FAQ: “What happens in a free online consultation?”

We’ll discuss your dog, your concerns, and your goals.

Read on for the details!

In this free, online 20-minute consultation:

  • We’ll go over your household setup: who lives in the home and their ages, frequency of visitors, and more.

  • Then, discuss the behavior(s) you're concerned about and your goals.

  • I’ll review any safety concerns and how to implement immediate management of the situation.

  • We’ll consider whether private in-person training sessions or private online training sessions are more appropriate for the issues you’re experiencing.

  • I'll answer your questions about my credentials, training methods (spoiler: they're rewards-based, positive, and effective), and anything else.

How we’ll meet and what you’ll need:

  • Our online session will be on Google Meet (you don’t need a Google account).

  • You will need a computer, smartphone, or device that can connect to the Internet.

  • You’ll receive the meeting link by email after you schedule your consultation.

  • You may want to have any questions ready and something to jot notes on (though I send a recap by email).

I often bring my peppermint tea to online meetings.

Odds are that our dog Petey will be snoozing behind me 😁

What this consultation is not:

  • A problem-solving session. It would be unethical and ineffective for me to give advice on modifying your dog’s behavior in 20 minutes.

  • The exception would be if there is an immediate danger to a member of the household or to your dog.

By the end of our consultation:

  • You’ll understand what’s driving your dog’s behavior and how I can help.

  • I’ll let you know when to expect my training proposal and any pertinent resources (usually the same day).

  • You will feel great for taking this step and getting started!
